About April

April Ward, DM, MSN, CNM has specialized in women’s health for 20 years. She is nationally board certified as a nurse-midwife and is licensed in New York as a midwife and as a registered nurse. April has cared for women aged 12 to 80 in a variety of settings, including community health centers, hospitals, and homes. She has attended births in Tennessee, Florida, and New York. April has a strong interest in promoting hormone health across the lifespan, combining the tools of conventional health care with the latest insights in healthy living. She founded Botanic Her in 2014.

April earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University and her Doctor of Midwifery degree from Jefferson University. She has also studied Western herbalism, medical aromatherapy, and Ayurvedic health techniques with a variety of international teachers and programs. April assesses the whole person and the human response to health conditions, with respect for the physical, emotional, and relational dimensions of each person’s experience.

April is raising four energetic and inspiring children. She lives in Central New York with her family.
